Soft Lamb Kofta with Minty Yogurt Dip

Tender, spiced lamb skewers (without the stick) paired with a cooling cucumber and yogurt dip. These are packed with iron and zinc, offering a flavorful way to support your toddler's growth.
Ingredients
- 250 grams Ground Lamb
- 2 tablespoons Onion
- 1 clove Garlic
- 2 tablespoons Breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Mint
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley
- 0.5 teaspoon Ground Cumin
- 0.5 cup Greek Yogurt
- 0.25 piece Cucumber
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
Instructions
- Prepare the vegetables: Finely grate the onion and garlic. Finely chop the fresh parsley and mint.
- In a medium bowl, combine the ground lamb, grated onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, parsley, half of the chopped mint, and the ground cumin.
- Mix with your hands until well combined, but avoid over-working the meat so it stays soft.
- Form the mixture into small, oval-shaped 'logs' (about 5cm long). This shape is easier for toddlers to hold than a round ball.
- Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the koftas for 8-10 minutes, turning frequently to ensure even browning. Safety Step: Ensure they are fully cooked through (no pink in the middle).
- While the meat cooks, make the dip: Grate the cucumber and squeeze it firmly in a clean cloth to remove all water. Mix the cucumber with the Greek yogurt and the remaining mint.
- Let the koftas rest for 3 minutes before serving to keep them juicy.
- Serve the warm koftas with a side of the yogurt dip for dipping or spreading.
