Steamed Broccoli with Mild Cheddar Dip

A vibrant and calcium-rich snack. Tender steamed broccoli florets served with a creamy, mild cheddar cheese dip. Perfect for babies practicing dipping and self-feeding.
Ingredients
- 1 cups Broccoli
- 2 tablespoon Mild Cheddar Cheese
- 2 tablespoons Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 tablespoon Whole Milk
- 1 pinch Garlic Powder
- 1 pinch Onion Powder
Instructions
- Wash the broccoli thoroughly and cut into medium-sized florets, leaving enough stem for the baby to hold (approx. 4-5cm long).
- Steam the broccoli florets for 6-8 minutes until the stems are very tender and easily pierced with a fork, but not falling apart.
- While the broccoli steams, prepare the dip: In a small saucepan, heat the milk over low heat.
- Whisk in the Greek yogurt (or cream cheese) until smooth.
- Add the grated mild cheddar cheese and a tiny pinch of garlic powder and onion powder.
- Stir constantly until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk.
- Allow the broccoli and the dip to cool to a safe warm temperature.
- Serve by placing the broccoli florets next to a small dollop of the dip. Encourage your baby to dip the 'tree' into the 'cheese'!
