Black Bean & Avocado Smash

A no-cook, iron-rich smash combining creamy avocado with protein-packed black beans. Ready in just 5 minutes, this thick and scoopable snack is perfect for busy days and delivers healthy fats essential for baby's brain development.
Ingredients
- 100 grams Canned Black Beans
- 0.5 medium Ripe Avocado
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 0.25 teaspoon Ground Cumin
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
Instructions
- Drain and rinse the canned black beans thoroughly.
- Place the beans in a bowl and mash thoroughly with a fork until mostly broken down with some texture remaining (no whole beans, which are a choking hazard).
- Scoop out the avocado and add to the bowl. Mash and mix together with the beans.
- Add the lemon juice, cumin, and olive oil. Stir until well combined.
- The consistency should be thick and scoopable — not runny. If too thick, add a tiny splash of water.
- Serve in a bowl for baby to scoop with hands. Can also be spread on soft toast strips or rice cakes for older babies.
