Peanut Butter & Banana Puree Swirl

A safe and delicious way to introduce peanuts. This recipe features a smooth banana base with thinned peanut butter swirled in, providing healthy fats and protein while following early allergen introduction guidelines.
Ingredients
- 1 medium Ripe Banana
- 2 teaspoons Smooth Peanut Butter
- 2 tablespoons Liquid for Thinning
Instructions
- Select a very ripe banana with some brown spots (easier to digest and naturally sweeter).
- Peel and mash the banana with a fork or blend until it is a completely smooth puree.
- In a separate small bowl, take 1-2 teaspoons of smooth, 100% natural peanut butter (ensure there is no added salt, sugar, or palm oil).
- Add 1-2 tablespoons of breast milk, formula, or warm water to the peanut butter. Stir vigorously until it becomes a thin, runny consistency. This is crucial to prevent choking.
- Place the banana puree in the baby's bowl.
- Drizzle the thinned peanut butter over the banana and use a spoon to 'swirl' it in. This ensures the peanut butter is evenly distributed and not served in a large glob.
- Serve the first taste on the tip of a spoon and monitor your baby closely for 2 hours for any signs of an allergic reaction.
