Gentle Courgette & Pea Puree

A light and easily digestible veggie blend. This puree is high in Vitamin C and antioxidants, supporting your baby's immune system and eye health while providing a naturally sweet introduction to greens.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Zucchini (Courgette)
  • 100 grams Green Peas

Instructions

  1. Wash the courgette thoroughly. Trim the ends and dice into small pieces (no need to peel as the skin is full of nutrients and softens when cooked).
  2. Place the diced courgette and the peas (fresh or frozen) into a steamer basket over boiling water.
  3. Steam for 6-8 minutes until the courgette is fork-tender and the peas are bright green.
  4. Transfer the vegetables to a blender. Reserve a little of the steaming water.
  5. Blend until very smooth. Because pea skins can be tough, press the puree through a fine-mesh sieve with the back of a spoon to remove any remaining fiber for a 'first-taste' silky texture.
  6. If the consistency is too thick, add a splash of breast milk, formula, or the reserved steaming water.
  7. Allow to cool completely and check the temperature before serving.
