Cool Cucumber Sticks with Cream Cheese

A refreshing and hydrating snack that is perfect for teething babies. Peeled and de-seeded cucumber sticks are served with a spread of smooth cream cheese, providing a mix of cool textures and healthy fats.
Ingredients
- 0.5 piece Cucumber
- 2 tablespoons Cream Cheese
- 1 teaspoon Fresh Dill
- 1 pinch Garlic Powder
Instructions
- Wash the cucumber thoroughly under cold running water.
- Peel the cucumber completely. The skin is a significant choking hazard and is often too tough for 9-month-olds to chew safely.
- Cut the cucumber in half lengthwise. Use a small spoon to scrape out all the seeds from the center. The seeds can be slippery and are a potential choking risk.
- Cut the cucumber into long, thin sticks (soldiers). Each stick should be approximately the length and width of an adult finger (5-7cm long and 1-2cm wide).
- Place the cream cheese in a small bowl. Add the finely chopped fresh dill and a tiny pinch of garlic powder.
- Mix the cream cheese until it is smooth and spreadable.
- You can either spread a thin layer of cream cheese directly onto each cucumber stick or serve the cream cheese as a dip on the side.
- If spreading, ensure the layer is thin enough that it doesn't become a sticky glob in the baby's mouth.
- Serve immediately while the cucumber is cool and crisp.
