Red Lentil & Carrot Puree

A high-protein, iron-rich puree designed for growth. Red lentils provide essential minerals while carrots add a natural sweetness and Vitamin C to help your baby absorb the iron efficiently.
Ingredients
- 50 grams Red Lentils
- 2 piece Carrot
- 1 teaspoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Instructions
- Rinse the red lentils thoroughly under cold running water until the water runs clear.
- Wash, peel, and dice the carrots into small rounds.
- Place the lentils and carrots in a small saucepan and cover with water (about 2 cups of water for every 1/2 cup of lentils).
- Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer with a lid partially on for 15-20 minutes until the lentils have almost dissolved and the carrots are very soft.
- Drain any excess water, but keep a small amount for blending.
- Transfer the mixture to a blender or use an immersion blender.
- Puree until completely smooth. Add a splash of breast milk or formula if a thinner consistency is needed for your baby.
- Stir in a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil before serving to add healthy fats for brain development.
